Dallas Roughneck Recap vs Nashville

A decisive win over the Nashville NightWatch the previous week gave the Roughnecks a lot of confidence going into their rematch against the NightWatch. However, they would first have to get through the Atlanta Hustle in the first leg of their double-header away weekend.

This weekend the Roughnecks brought a smaller roster and were again without their Team USA players. The score line in Atlanta reflected this. Rather than winning by a double digit margins or going on extended runs during the game, the skeleton Roughneck crew chipped away at the Hustle with small, two- or three-point runs all game. Ultimately, a 3-0 run at the beginning of the game to make it 4-1 and a 3-0 run in the fourth quarter sealed Atlanta’s fate as the Roughnecks defeated the Hustle 26-20.

The next day the Dallas team drove to Nashville for the rematch of the previous week’s game. The NightWatch would hand the Roughnecks their first deficit all season long by taking the scoring the first point of the game. However, that was the most the NightWatch lead all game. Following the 0-1 score, the Roughnecks would score three in a row to make it 3-1. Despite playing an extra game with fewer numbers and no USA all-stars, Dallas still rolled to a 34-23 win.

The 9-0 Roughnecks come home this weekend to face the Charlotte Express on June 4 at 7 p.m. for Military Appreciate Night.
